A Trusted History of Listening, Understanding and Care

Our mission

Community Options Australia began in 1996 as a not-for-profit organisation with a clear mission: to provide innovative packaged care solutions that connected people with the support they needed. From the very beginning, the focus was on people first - working with older people, people with disabilities, their families, and carers to deliver increasingly individualised, person-centred care.

Leadership in aged care
assessments

In 2015, Community Options Australia was selected as one of the national organisations to deliver Regional Assessment Services through My Aged Care. This marked the beginning of their leadership in aged care assessments. The separation of assessment from service delivery was a significant shift - ensuring that every assessment focused purely on what each person needed, rather than what a service provider could offer.

Their approach to assessments became known for being calm, supportive, and genuinely person-centred. Rather than treating people like numbers in a system, assessors focused on real conversations, listening to each person's story, understanding what mattered to them, and helping them feel confident about their choices.

This history of listening, guiding, and supporting people laid the foundation for their continued leadership in aged care assessments, including the new Single Assessment System, helping Australians feel understood, supported, and confident as they navigate their care journey.
